Do not ice-only. Ice reduces pain short-term but does not address the underlying tissue problem; pain returns when ice wears off. Do not rely on anti-inflammatories. Plantar fasciitis is largely a degenerative, not inflammatory, tendinopathy - NSAIDs help pain slightly but don’t speed healing. Do not inject cortisone repeatedly. Do not buy generic insoles from a big-box pharmacy and expect a fix. Generic insoles rarely correct individual biomechanics.
